Paintball Vacation? Maybe!

We're trying to come up with something new to try for vacation this year, and we talked about going camping and playing paintball. The guys in our group want to check out NJ Paintball since it's supposed to be really nice and woodsy . . . we might even be able to find a place that will let us camp on site and play night games. Paintball isn't generally my thing, but I love playing at night.

Central Jersey should be nice and warm during the summer when we want to go, and camping in tents will be a change for us. We usually rent cabins.

Joey found a farm that lets you bring your own equipment to play paintball in nj. That would make it cheaper for us. I think they run special events and if we put together a large enough group, maybe we could contract the place for the whole weekend for gaming, camping, and cookouts. It's going to be a real rustic vacation this year, nothing like we've ever done before.

What else is there to do at 6am?

I haven't slept in a week. The Super Tuesday primaries had me wide awake and nervous all night Tuesday and into Wednesday morning, and things have gone down hill from there. That's why I'm sitting here at the computer at 6am on a Saturday instead of snuggling in my bed with my girlfriend and cat.

When I first wake up, I can't usually complete a sentence let alone type one, so I usually hop online and shop or read blogs once my eyes are open enough to read. This morning, I ended up shopping, something that needed to be done for Valentine's Day anyway. See, I'm not an insomniac -- I'm practical!

I was slacking as far as shopping for my gf for Valentine's Day, but I got that taken care of. She'll never find this blog, so I can say here what I found . . . two new books: The Audacity of Hope (she's an Obama supporter) and Ariel Gore's Mothertrip since she is planning to start trying for a baby soon. I also want to look for something more romantic/sexy. She really likes Valentine's Day and after resisting for years because I really don't like it, I've realized that it is so much more fun to just participate fully and watch her enjoy than it is to decry our consumerist culture (and hurt her feelings).

I'm thinking of getting her a strap on. We always joke about trying one. She says she wants to, but it's hard to say if she really does or if she's kidding. So I think I'll balance that one out with something I know she'll love -- a massage kit. I've been looking at this adult toy store because they're known for being sex-positive and most of their product descriptions are written in a gender-neutral way, so that they apply to male/female, male/male, or (like us) female/female couples. I like that!

Well, that killed an hour of my early morning time. I think I'm going to go take a bath and try to go back to bed for a little while. Not sleeping is going to kill me someday.
